Thanks for writing this. My thoughts:
1. Race is indeed a social construct, but that doesn't mean Goldberg was right. She said the Holocaust wasn't about race. It was! If I said "American slavery wasn't about race, because race is a social construct" that would be pretty offensive and erase the very important role that the social construct of race played in American slavery.
2. I also don't think Goldberg should've been suspended, or that she's a bad person. I'm Jewish and I know tons of Jews - none of them thinks she was right, but none of them wanted her suspended either.
